Remember back in the day grabbing a freezer pop on a scorching summer day and then checking your tongue in the mirror to see what color it turned? I was always all about the green ones. As a snack-loving millennial, my freezer pop obsession stuck with me into adulthood. But when my then teething son had his first blue-tongue moment, I realized that many of our favorite nostalgic snacks had gotten healthier—except for freezer pops. They're still full of artificial junk, pasteurized juices, concentrates, preservatives, and additives with a five-year shelf life. Not exactly the best treat for anyone.
